NUTRITIONAL NEEDS FOR A GREAT START IN LIFE

PROTEIN:

Protein is a daily nutritional requirement. They are the building blocks of our bodies and are made up of essential and non-essential amino acids. Essential amino acids must come from dietary intake as there is a lack of production by the body.

CARBOHYDRATES:

Infants receive additional sources of energy through carbohydrates (sugars) Oligosaccharides.DeLaval-AMR_1_300[1]

OMEGA 6 OMEGA 3 (ARA,Arachadonic acid,DHA Docosahexaenoic acid)

The DAA (dieticians association of Australia) say that DHA and ARA helps brain and visual maturation, particularly those in the central nervous system (Nov 2012). While the omega3 and 6 fatty acids can be converted to ARA and DHA by humans, evidence suggests that this alone is not enough and additional nutritional source should be given as we do with Baby Gro.

NUCLEOTIDES:

Nucleotides are the building blocks of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid). During periods of rapid growth, nucleotides provide essential nutrients to tissue growth in infants. Nucleotides improve the immune system and the gut function.

LACTOFERRIN:

Lactoferrin is found in abundance in whey protein and has a number of functions biologically such as being antibacterial, antiviral, anti inflammator, antifungal, rich in antioxidants, and have immunomodula effects.

TAURINE:

Taurine can be found in breast milk and is the most abundant free amino acid. It is essential in periods of rapid growth. It has a role in fat absorbtion, liver function, and nerve protection of the eye and ear.

PREBIOTICS – PROBIOTICS (GOS&FOS)

Galacto- oligosaccharides (GOS) are important in the development of an infant’s immune system. It helps produce good bacteria in the gut. Infant formula such as BabyGro PLATINUM has been shown to adequately produce the necessary amount of good bacteria in the intestine which enhances the immune system.

Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) found in such foods as yoghurt and infant formula like BabyGro, have beneficial bacteria which helps maintain the health of the gastrointestinal tract.

VITAMINS & MINERALS

There are many vitamins and minerals that the human body require. Each has its own role in our health. A balanced intake of vitamins and minerals will ensure good growth and development in an infant.
